How to Get Ripped Abs

It seems most people are very unhappy with their figure or would like to see some extra beef in the muscle department. One way to never be ashamed of your abdomen and loose that beer belly is to start working out and eating the right diet with the end goal of amazingly ripped abs to show off on the beach. You don't just have to have a beer belly to be motivated to build some muscle, maybe you are not happy with your skinny frame or that you have good abs already but are looking to go that extra mile and build on them. If you're serious about building your abs it takes a combination of motivation, dedication, the right diet and of course an amalgamation of tough workouts.

Diet

An often overlooked aspect of building muscle is nutrition. Many people think it's sufficient if they only do workouts but still eat as they normally would, but we cannot stress enough how important is it to combine a relevant balanced diet with your training regime. A good balance of around 20% protein, 55% carbohydrates and 25% fat usually works for most people, but these can varied based on personal judgment and the type of exercises a person will be carrying out that day.
Training

It is advisable that a person draws up a training regime so they can plan ahead and spread the exercises evenly across the week or month; a regime also helps with motivation and getting into a routine as part of your daily life. Effective workouts for building your abs include different forms of crunches such as the bicycle crunch, crunching using a fitness ball and standard crunches. If you are looking for some more guidance and want to follow a regime already set out for you, it could be advantageous to invest in a product which offers all those aspects. One of the most popular programs is the p90x home fitness program; they offer a series of DVDs which focus on nutrition, fitness, weight loss and muscle building.

In total there are 12 DVDs, each one focusing on different muscles and techniques. Another similar product on the market is the Slim in 6 regime, they claim to be able to give you a lean and fit body in 6 weeks focusing on cardio and resistance exercises. You could also try out Tony Horton's 10 Minute Trainer, this particular program entails getting people to do 10 minute workouts with the goal of getting a fit body and muscle building. If these programs seem too intense and serious for your needs, there are alternatives which offer exercises incorporating dance or working out to music, popular programs that fall into these categories are Turbo Jam and Hip Hop Trainer.

The choice of which technique you choose to achieve your ripped abs is down to you, most decisions in exercise and work outs are down to personal preference so make sure you are comfortable with your regime to give you the best possible chance of achieving your desired end result.
