Internet Marketing Newbie? You Must Clearly Define Your Goals

Internet Marketing Newbie? You Must Clearly Define Your Goals

Internet Marketing for the Newbie doesnt have to be a discouraging experience. Getting your product in front of an audience can be somewhat of a daunting task. But remember this. The internet marketing tactics used by the gurus are available to you also.

Set out the goals for your business clearly. Where would you like for your business to be in six months? How about one year? 2 years? How about 5?

Nail your goals down for the specific time periods. Take your time with this one. The internet has been here long before you came aboard. It will still be here when your plans are set.

Break the big goals down into bite sized manageable chunks. Monthly goals, weekly goals, daily goals. Doing it this way chops the mountain down to your size.

A guru said, learn to climb the hill first, then you can tackle the mountain. Daily successes are always important to your forward progress.

Always check to see whether your small victories are moving you toward your goal.

Stay to your plan. Stay focused. Thats were victory lies. This type of consistency will bring you in sight of your six month goal. Then your one year goal, and so on.

Achieving your daily goals is like pouring fuel onto a fire. Your desire and motivation to succeed is fired up by your small victories. All internet marketing newbies should cherish these victories.

Are you adamant about selling your own product? Good for you. But in the early goings, go specific. Unsure about your final product? Dig deeper. Focus even narrower. Another guru said, find a niche market that is one inch wide and one mile deep.

For instance, I noticed men starting to wear two-tone shoes from the 50s. Personally, I like the style. If your product is mens shoes, you may want to consider drilling deeper and selling mens shoes from the 50s.

Start an ezine. Show your potential customers what you know about the shoe from the 50s. Teach them how to care for that particular shoe. Become an expert on that shoe. Make up your own classy name for the shoe. Just for fun, Ritzy Shoes. Sound bad? Okaybut you get what I mean.

Write articles. Give tips on the best way to get rid of scuff marks. Point those articles to your optin page. Capture their email addresses. Write up a free report about the history of these Ritzy Shoes.

Stay busy and focused on your niche. Branch out when you can to shoes of the 70s. Call them the Ritzy Don Shoe. Show that they are from your stable of unique shoes.

If the 70s dont work out as well? Fine. Take the slam. Dont rule out the ladies! They love shoes too. Just dont make excuses for the 70s failure. Learn from it. Move on. Believe in yourself. Havent you bought yourself this far? Believe that you can go farther, and you will.

Belief without proper action though is futile. For instance, you desire to make a lot of money on the internet right? So why do you spend your money frivolously? That action does not line up with your goal of making a lot of money.

You can believe you will make money on the internet quick and fast with your product. But I dont think you should embrace that belief.

History shows us thats not normal. Set up challenging but reasonable goals for yourself. Make sure they are well measured too.

My belief is that its always special to do what youre passionate about. If you can do it on the internet, congratulations! Your pot of gold may be in the distance.

For ten years I was in a career that I was supremely passionate about. I told my wife not to tell my boss this, but I would do it for free. Of course she thought I was losing it.
