The first thing that many people ask when they begin to learn about the auras and aura colors is "what is an aura, exactly?" While the answers they receive might vary slightly from place to place, a very basic understanding on auras would encompass the idea that the aura consists of the electromagnetic field that exists around the human body, as well as in every organism and object in the entire Universe. When around the human body, some shorten this to HEF- Human Energy Field. This oval-shaped field extends out from the body about two to three feet on all sides, extending up above the head and down into the ground under the feet.
If you have heard of the Indian chakra system, then you already know a little bit about the way that energy fields in the body work. When talking about auras, or using aura cameras to view the energy layers, these seven energy points in the body each have their own frequency and usually can be seen to be separate, yet interrelated. Each chakra can affect the other chakras, as well as the thoughts, emotions, health and behaviors of the person. It is for this reason that so many systems seek out to right the balance of the chakras, as this will have far-reaching effects when it comes to increasing a person's well-being. Aura imaging is only one of many ways that healers focus on the chakra system in terms of healing.
Each chakra, called an auric body when dealing with the aura field associated, has different needs that are related to that particular body. There are also specific colors- the basic color spectrum, actually. From bottom to top those colors are red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet. In terms of the attributes for each auric body, those are as follows:
1) First Chakra: Physical auric body
Location: base of the spine at the perineum (root)
Associated with: the physical body, pleasure, comfort, health
2) Second Chakra: The etheric auric body
Location: lower abdomen, just under the belly button
Associated with: the emotions in relation to the self; self love and acceptance
3) Third Chakra: Vital auric body
Location: solar plexus
Associated with: connection of physical to emotional; personal power
4) Fourth Chakra: Astral (emotional) body
Location: center of the chest (heart)
Associated with: love, relationships with friends and family
5) Fifth Chakra:Lower mental auric body
Location: throat
Associated with: communication; individual divine will
6) Sixth Chakra: Higher mental auric body
Location: third eye (mid-forehead, center)
Associated with: divine unconditional love and spiritual ecstasy.
7) Seventh Chakra: Intuitive/Spiritual body
Location: top of the head
Associated with: divine self, connection to divinity and universe
