Lessons From Spiritual Healing School

Lessons From Spiritual Healing School

If there is something that I have learned during my time at spiritual healing school, it's that life is all about relationships. We enter into a relationship with everything we interact with, be it other people, animals, even the food we eat. Understanding the way we form relationships and how to create healthier relationships is something that would be a valuable tool for all. As far as our interaction with other people goes, much is based out of the rules and morals that our society upholds. This can be demonstrated by the different types of interactions found all over the globe- interactions that are encouraged in one society might be frowned upon in another. If we are going to be able to understand why we have choose to be in some of the relationships that we are in, it will first be important to see the ways in which we are acting, not out of socially-taught ways, but out of our own personal truths.

When it comes to relationships, our soul is often a large part of why we form them. In energy healing school, I was taught that the soul has but one goal: to bring us into a state of unconditional light and love. It seeks to resolve conflicts and end unhealthy patterns or behaviors. As humans, our sentience is a gift; it is the gift of free will. Our soul cannot override the choices we make. This can present issues, actually. The human mind is often consumed with thoughts of safety, and has a tendency to fear change. Our souls, on the other hand, know that sometimes, change is the pathway to welcoming greater opportunities into our lives.

In world of spiritual energy healing, many people find that they must confront old choices to stay in relationships or situations that their soul desires to move on from. For many people, they feel a sense of completeness once they have realized this. It is not to say that all relationships will, or should, end, only that their permanence is something that is a construction of the human mind, not of the soul. The soul is more than happy to be lifted out of a situation that is lacking in happiness, respect and love. It can thrive on its own resources of self-love as the personality goes through the healing process. As time goes by, the mind is able to look back at a relationship, acknowledge the good that was there, and respect that it was time to move on. This is, casually speaking, what was there all along, behind societal illusions of "forever-after."

It was in the process of learning all this that I came to realize that the relationship I had been trying to leave for so many years, only to be pulled back in, was actually a codependent relationship. I was not defining myself, I was letting my partner tell me what I needed to be. I was not living for myself and making the choices that I desired to, I was letting the other person's needs trump my own. In fact, it was a very hard battle for me to even go to spiritual healing school. I can see now that the reason I fought so hard to get this training is because my soul knew exactly what I needed. It was time for my eyes to be opened. I could not be more grateful.
